The Capital Train

THe Peacekepper led them onto the train, then mTHe DIstrict Sponser was waiting for them. "YOu wil meet your mentor here. It may take a few days till we get to the Capital."

rue laughed, A few days until we get fancied up for death. SHe thought.

The District Sponsers frowned. "It's Dinner!" She called towards the boy.

Rue frowned, she looked around trying to see where their mentor was. She couldn't be sure.

Rue sat down at the table. The dining cart was brought out by an Avox. Another on followed.

The mentor straggled in, a bit drunk. Apparently he was drinking most of the supply of achohol.

Rue tried to remember seeing the mentor drunk, she couldn't. Every Games he was perfect. It might be just on the train, hopefully.

Rue cocked her head, towards Arkanrian. She nodded her head once. "Aren't you supposed to help us?" She said to their mentor, and District Sponser.

Their mentor smiled. She grinned, "Listen, princess, what are your strengths?" She asked with a bit of an attitude.

Rue blushed, "Climbing trees." That was all she was good at.

The mentor turned towards the boy.

Their mentor frowned at Rue, disappointed. But smiled towards Arkarian. "It counts." She said, simply. Her attention drifted back to Rue, concerned. She didn't know how someone that small could survive.

Rue coughed, embarrassed. "I, Er, can also swing on branches." She continued. Rue wasn't a fighter, she wouldn't last a second, fighting someone older.

Rue laughed. "I can't fight." She said and shrugged.

The mentor grinned wider. "Perfect!" She exclaimed.

Rue smiled, "Outlasting everyone?" She asked, and their mentor nodded. "I'll be in the trees." Rue said.

Rue frowned, "You just said you could climb trees." She said. "Why wouldn't you be in a tree, when you could be?" Rue thought it out, there was major flaws to her plan, mostly because she didn't know what the Gamemakers had in store.

Rue was speechless. The other two haven't talked much, but she was grateful to that. She didn't want it to come down to them two either. She knew he would win, and she might even let him. Rue sighed, not feeling hungry anymore.

Rue walked into her room, exhausted. She wasn't going to be able to sleep. That was obvious. But, she went to her room anyway. When she collapsed onto her bed, she started to cry. They were quiet sobs, but were getting louder.

"C-come I-in." Rue said, her voice shakey. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. She shut her eyes tightly, she opened them, but just buried her head in her hands. Rue sniffled, trying not to cry anymore:

Rue frowned, she didn't understand why she was crying now. The whole situation just settled in, that was most likely why. She just shook her head no, scared if she opened her mouth she would cry again.

Rue looked up at Arkarian. She smiled. "Your crying to?" She said, then frowned again. "This isn't fair." She said, then looked down, to her she sounded like a little child.
